Technology Collaboration Programme

October 2015 Workshop – Bright Business Conference – Energy Efficiency: Leading by example, Halifax, Nova Scotia

Welcome to the fourth annual Bright Business Conference. This is an occasion to celebrate achievements by the Nova Scotia business sector, to learn about best practices in energy efficiency here and elsewhere, and to think big about the next big things. Four years after the first Bright Business Conference, there’s no denying energy efficiency’s positive impacts.

With a little help from Efficiency Nova Scotia, Nova Scotians are leading the way nationally. Today, energy efficiency makes up about 7% of our electricity mix. In other words, it has reduced our need for electricity by 7%, that’s enough to power 78,000 homes.

Over 190,000 participants have participated in our program. In 2015, Nova Scotians will save $99 million in electricity costs simply by being more efficient. That’s money families and businesses can spend in other ways.

The conference itself is another example of the growth of energy efficiency. This year, we’re delighted to have speakers and delegates joining us from across Nova Scotia, other parts of Canada, the United States and Europe.
