Public Engagement Task Meets at RVO in Utrecht

On the 1st April, the Public Engagement for Energy Infrastructure Task convened in Utrecht at the premises of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) for its latest progress meeting.

The meeting brought together 16 participants, including representatives from Task member countries—UK, Netherlands, Sweden, and Austria—alongside external experts, the Head of Secretariat of UsersTCP, and Task leaders from the Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy (IEECP).

The meeting featured interactive workshops focused on co-designing interview guidelines aimed at engaging both technical experts and societal stakeholders. Participants also advanced discussions on developing practical guidance to support decision-makers in meaningfully involving the public in emerging energy infrastructure projects.

Colleagues from RVO delivered a presentation on the hydrogen landscape in the Netherlands, offering valuable national context and insights into ongoing developments.

Overall, the meeting provided an important opportunity to reflect on progress achieved so far and to align on next steps for the Task’s continued work.
