Final Event: “EmPOWERing All: Inclusive Energy Transitions”

The Gender & Energy Task invites you to a one-day event in Vienna on 24 April, offering a unique opportunity for key stakeholders in the realm of inclusive and sustainable energy transitions to convene and delve into critical inquiries.

This gathering will spotlight the research findings and interventions of the Task and discuss future developments and challenges in the area, bringing together a diverse array of participants, including policymakers, governmental representatives, energy technology developers, researchers, consultants, and providers. Representatives from the IEA, NGOs, NPOs and international organizations will also attend the event, which is open to all interested parties.

 

The preliminary agenda includes:

  • An engaging panel discussion on “Empowering Energy Users” and “Gender-Responsivee Energy Policies”
  • An interactive workshop focusing on “Inclusive Energy Technologies” 
  • A stimulating dialogue addressing “Knowledge Gaps” 
  • Ample networking opportunities

Questions that will be discussed:

  • What are the main knowledege gaps and research priorities in the intersection of gender and energy?
  • What cuktural, structural, and material barriers hinder the development and implementation of gender-responsive energy policies and technologies, and how can we overcome them?
  • How do inclusive design processes contribute to making energy technologies gender-sensitive and adaptable to the needs of diverse user groups?
  • How can we integrate gender perspectives into the design of energy technologies and user solutions to ensure their inclusivity and efficacy.
